ZOOM training: How to apply NVC in every day life

You have done some NVC training and love of the principles and teaching but struggle to actually apply it in your own life?  Do you need support to come back to connection with the teachings and have a space to ask questions?

This online workshop series is designed to help you continue integrating NVC in your life after you have done an introduction training.

NVC is very simple in its framework but takes lots of time and practice to actually be able to apply it. It takes regular reminders in our life and repetition to be able to integrate anything. So don't be too hard on yourself if you haven't been able to apply principle you've learned and join other on this learning opportunity to keep NVC alive in your life.

You will get new insights on how to apply NVC and very concrete exercises to practice. 

The workshop structure is the following:

- 2 by 2 empathy (10min)

- Workshop content delivered by highly experienced NVC trainer Myriam Verzat or Warren Hooley (30min)

- Exercise 1 followed by debrief (50min)

- Debrief (15min)

- Final words and closing (10min)

SESSION 1 Oct 21 4:30-6:30pm - I have needs  with warren Hooley

Staying in consistent connection to our needs can take time to develop. In this session we will explore ways to make this process more enjoyable with a variety of approaches.

SESSION 2 Nov 12 4:30-6:30pm - Embracing all the parts of me  with Myriam Verzat

In this session we will explore how to combine Nonviolent Communication with some Internal Family systems approach to give empathy to all the parts that manifest inside of us. You will be guided in different approaches to do that to find a process of self-empathy that works for you.

SESSION 3: January 2025 - Balancing Assertiveness & Empathy with Warren Hooley

This session we will explore when it's helpful to speak assertively from a grounded, respectful and serious place and from an empathic place being warm, soft and caring.

SESSION 4: February 2025: Repairing relationships with Myriam Verzat

Do you have a relationship that went sideways? Where you wished you hadn't said some things that you now regret? Maybe you don't know how to go about it and if that relationship is even still possible. In this session we will explore processes to repair relationships first internally as well as in dialogue with the other person.

SESSION 5: April 2025 - Giving feedback with authenticity and care with Warren Hooley

Feedback is a pillar of any sustainable and healthy relationship. We need to be able to let others know how they impact us and vice versa. This session will focus on how to build comfort and fluidity in your ability to offer and receive feedback.

SESSION6: May 2026 - Navigating conflict from self blame to self responsibility with Myriam Verzat

One of the powerful way to move through a conflict is when at least one person is able to take responsibility for their action and their impact without blaming themselves for it. In this session we will practice how to take responsibility without taking the blame.

HOW IT WORKS

You can come to only one session or buy a package for all 6 workshops. 
You will receive the Zoom link upon registration. The session are highly interactive using break out rooms and allowing lots of space for life examples.

COST

$25 to $50 per session ($25 rate spaces are limited)

$130-$295 for 6 sessions.

We want to host those event so that everyone who wants can participate. Please let us know if you would like to explore special arrangement. You can chose any amount between $130 and $295 by selecting "I have a special arrangement" and adding the donation for the amount you would like to contribute. No one will be turned away because of money.

Here is some considerations to decide how much you wish to contribute.
Consider paying less on the scale if you.
– are supporting children or have other dependents
– have significant debt
– have medical expenses not covered by insurance
– receive public assistance
– have immigration-related expenses
– are an elder with limited financial support
– are an unpaid community organizer
– are a returning citizen who has been denied work due to incarceration history

Consider paying more on the scale if you:
– own the home you live in
– have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money
– travel recreationally
– have access to family money and resources in times of need
– work part time by choice
– have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education (or gender and racial privilege, class background, etc.) Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, I ask you to recognize this as a choice.

** In the desire to create more opportunities for people to connect, these workshops are open to anybody who has done at least 3 hours of NVC training in person or online. **

Warren Hooley

Warren Hooley comes from the (Okanagan) Territory in Penticton, British Columbia. Having mixed roots of Okanagan, English and Ukrainian and growing up in both western and indigenous worlds, Warren sees himself as a bridge, helping both sides move from polarity to deeper connection. For the past 10 years, Warren has passionately facilitated over 1500 workshops on the topics of Compassionate Communication, Indigenous ‘Allyship’ and Decolonization. Today, living in Vancouver BC, Warren is dedicated to helping create a world where everyone can thrive and succeed to their own definition. His work is focused on teaching the tangible skills for healthy, happy and sustainable relationships.

Myriam Verzat


Myriam is a CNVC (cnvc.org) certified trainer in NonViolent Communication based in Nanaimo, BC, Canada. She has a Master’s degree in communication, a certificate in environmental education and five years of training and sharing NonViolent Communication. She shares her passion for NVC with individuals, schools and organizations around British Columbia and beyond. Her dream is to empower organizations and individuals to build a more compassionate and sustainable world.
